Colter Pours In 54 For Jackals On Sunday

Derrick Colter went off for 54 points to power the Jamestown Jackals past the Reading Rebels 144-118 in The Basketball League action Sunday afternoon at Jamestown Community College’s Physical Education Complex.

Colter went 17 of 24 from the field, including 6 of 9 from 3-point range, and added 14-of-16 shooting at the foul line to lead the Jackals to a split of their back-to-back weekend series. Jamestown lost 124-113 to the Albany Patroons on Saturday evening.

On Sunday, Brent Price added 23 points as six Jackals scored in double figures. Lorenzo Collier had 15 points, followed by Jeremiah Coston’s 13, Leon Sutton’s 12, Conner Kelley’s 11 and Alonzo Murphy’s 10.

Aquille Carr led Reading with 33 points, while Anthony Lee and Lybrant Robinson each had 21.

On Saturday, Shadell Millinghaus had 26 points and Edward Dyson III added 22 as Albany won by 11.

Colter paced the Jackals with 35 points and Price had 33.

Jamestown has five games remaining in the regular season. The Jackals will play a three-game road trip next weekend. On Friday, they will visit the Washington Avenue Armory in Albany to take on the Patroons before visiting the Rhode Island Kraken on Saturday and Sunday at Providence Career Technology Academy.

Jamestown currently sits in fourth place in the Atlantic Northeast Division with an 8-8 record.
