Big Second Half Sends Bears Past Maple Grove

Frewsburg outscored Maple Grove 43-22 in the second half en route to a 67-47 nonleague boys basketball victory Wednesday.

Connor Murray led the Bears (9-4, 5-2 CCAA D1 East) with 18 points and seven steals; Gavin Smith had 17 points and seven rebounds; Zack Carr had 13 points, six rebounds and three assists; and Andrew LeBaron had 10 points and six rebounds.

The Red Dragons (6-8, 2-5 CCAA D2 West) led 15-5 after the first quarter and 25-24 at halftime.

Brendon Weatherup led Maple Grove with 24 points to go along with eight rebounds, while Marcus Laney grabbed nine rebounds and had four assists.

BAEHR POURS IN 24 FOR FALCONER

FALCONER — The Falconer Golden Falcons downed Pine Valley 63-42 in nonleague boys basketball action on Wednesday.

Mathis Baehr led the Golden Falcons (9-3, 3-2 CCAA East 2) with 24 points, Rodger Markham had seven steals and five assists, Jaiman Johnson dished five assists and had four steals and Dom Delaney collected eight rebounds.

Pine Valley’s (2-10, 1-3 CCAA East 2) effort was led by Jon Sheldon with 17 points.
