Frewsburg/Southwestern Swims Past St. Francis

FREWSBURG — Behind double individual first-places by Zachary Gifford, Frewsburg/Southwestern swam past St. Francis 128-45 in a nonleague swim meet Wednesday at Frewsburg Central School.

Gifford captured the 200-meter freestyle (2:10.72) and the 400 freestyle (4:36.57).

Jude Strittmatter doubled for St. Francis in the 200 individual medley (2:22.27) and the 100 freestyle (56.24).

JHS WINS TUESDAY

WEST SENECA — Jamestown seniors Ian McIntosh and Jerry Miranda were sent out with a win in their last regular-season swim meet Tuesday night as the Red Raiders knocked off West Seneca West in Erie County Interscholastic Conference action.

The meet was decided in the last event, but Jamestown dominated overall in the four-lane pool by taking nine first-place finishes and four runner-up spots.

Falconer eighth-grader Logan Johnson swam best times in all four of his events, including making a championship 200-yard freestyle cut.
