JCC Men Fall At Niagara County; Women’s Game Postponed

SANBORN — The Jamestown Community College men’s basketball team fell to 0-2 on the season with a 72-54 loss to Niagara County CC in the Region 3 Division II opener for both teams.

The Thunderwolves led, 36-30, at halftime before outscoring the Jayhawks by 12 in the second half.

Isaac Allen was the lone bright spot for Jamestown CC, scoring 21 points while picking up four steals.

Kailee White led Niagara County CC with 18 points to go along with six rebounds. Justin Hendrick had 14 points and seven rebounds while Adam Hosseini chipped in 10 points.

Both teams struggled from the field as the Thunderwolves shot just 39.1% overall, including 16.7% from 3-point range. Even at the free throw line, Niagara County CC was just 14 of 29.

Jamestown CC was even worse at 28.8% overall, including just 2 of 21 from 3-point range.

The teams combined for 42 turnovers and 43 personal fouls.

The Jayhawks return to action Saturday at Lackawanna College. Tip-off is scheduled for 3 p.m.

WOMEN’S GAME POSTPONED

The Jamestown Community College women’s basketball game scheduled for Wednesday evening against Niagara County CC was postponed due to COVID-19 protocols within the Thunderwolves’ program.

The Jayhawks (1-1) are coming off an 85-77 win this past Sunday against Harcum College, gaining their first win on the season.

Jamestown CC will now be off until Saturday when it travels to Lackawanna College for a 1 p.m. tip-off against the 20th-ranked Falcons.
