Carlson, Barber Shine In Frewsburg

FREWSBURG — Jamestown’s Drew Carlson and Frewsburg’s Acacia Barber were the individual boys and girls winners during season-opening Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association cross country action Tuesday at Robert H. Jackson Elementary School.

Carlson won the boys race in 17:45, but Falconer/Cassadaga Valley was the top team with 24 points. Jamestown was second with 49 points and Frewsburg was third with 60.

Barber won the girls race in 20:08, but Falconer/Cassadaga Valley was the lone complete girls team with 15 points.

LUDWIG, FLICK COAST

FREDONIA — Fredonia’s Owen Ludwig won the boys race and Silver Creek/Forestville’s Juliana Flick won the girls race in season-opening action Tuesday at Fredonia High School.

The race was unable to be held at Lake Erie State Park due to COVID-19 restrictions on gatherings put in place by New York state.

Silver Creek/Forestville was the team winners in both races. The girls finished with 18 points while Fredonia had 43 and Dunkirk was incomplete. The boys finished with 20 points while Fredonia had 44 and Dunkirk had 76.

FRANKLINVILLE — Allegany-Limestone cruised to individual and team victories in both the boys and girls races against Franklinville/Ellicottville.

Jacob Brink won the boys race in 16:42 as Allegany-Limestone won with 15 points. Franklinville/Ellicottville had 55.

Angelin Napoleon won the girls race in 19:16 to lead her team to 17 points. Franklinville/Ellicottville had 51 points.
