JV Raiders Claim Super Saturday Title

The Jamestown Raiders won the Super Saturday Western New York High School Club Hockey League Mixed Division jayvee championship with a 3-1 win over Eden/Lake Shore/Pioneer/Springville on Saturday at the LECOM Harborcenter in Buffalo. Jamestown’s Griffin Bogdanowicz opened the scoring with an unassisted goal before Spencer Bell made it 2-0 early in the third period with an assist from Lucas Gilbert. ELPS made it 2-1 with 2:12 remaining, but Lucas Lisciandro sealed the win with an empty-net goal from Bell with 1:01 left. Collin Norlander made 20 saves in net for the Raiders, who will play in the state tournament this weekend in Rochester. The Raiders varsity team will play in Super Monday at 4 p.m. today at KeyBank Center against Royalton-Hartland/Barker/Medina. Admission is $8 for adults and $5 for students.
