Gladiators Getting It In ‘Gear’
While Jamestown is entering a new era with the “Tarp Skunks”, the Gladiators travel baseball program, based out of Lakewood, entered a new era itself recently by signing a sponsorship deal with Adidas through the Jock Shop on Harrison Street in Jamestown. “This is a great opportunity for young ball players in this area. It is great that our program is getting this recognition. Not only that, but the kids think it is awesome that a major sports apparel company is sponsoring them. To them, it’s all about the swag,” program coordinator and head coach Troy Bouckhuyt. “Our program was started 13 years ago with three teams by Corey Miller. We had five teams last year and the quality of baseball keeps getting better and better.” As part of the deal, all the teams in the Gladiator program will wear Adidas hats, uniforms and have access to Adidas gear. “This is a great day for Gladiator baseball,” Bouckhuyt said. “I would like to thank Corey Miller and all the past coaches that helped get this program to where it is today.”
