Rebels Lose Fight-Filled Game

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. — Johnstown was a 2-1 winner over Jamestown in a scrappy North American Hockey League East Division contest Thursday night.

The opening period saw eight fighting penalties handed out, and the Tomahawks were able to hang on to a two-goal lead thanks to a pair of power-play goals.

Valerii Rykov grabbed his fifth of the year in the third period from Noah Finstrom and Jordan Cormier, but the Rebels offense remained off the board for the rest of the night.

Noah Basarb grabbed both goals for Johnstown on the power play, converting from Quinn Warmuth at 12:48 of the first period and finishing off a pass by Adam Kolcon at 9:43 of the second.

Noah West made 26 saves for Jamestown while David Tomeo stopped 15 of 16 shots for the hosts.

The teams will meet again tonight at 7:30 p.m.
