LAKEWOOD — The annual Firecracker 10K run will be held July 4, beginning at the Lakewood Beach.

Sponsored by the Lakewood YMCA, the race, one of the oldest in Chautauqua County, begins at 9 a.m. at the Lakewood Beach. In addition to the 10K run, there will also be a two-mile run and a two-mile walk. All pre-registered runners will receive a high-performance T-shirt.

The Wegmans kids races will take place along the waterfront. These races are free for children ages 2-11. Following the awards ceremony, all children, ages 2-10, can participate in the M&T money hunt.

Sponsors are Wegmans, M&T Bank, Univera Healthcare, UPMC, VA Jamestown Outpatient Clinic, Lakeshore Paving, Digitell Inc. and Western New York Urology Associates, LLC. The morning activities are part of the Lakewood July 4th celebration, which includes live music, street vendor and a fireworks display.
