Five Seniors To Play In Lions Game

Turzillo, King To Represent Jamestown

Five local seniors will have one more chance to strap on the pads and represent their high schools at the 43rd annual Kensington Lions All-Star High School Football Classic.

The game will be played on Wednesday, July 25 at Williamsville South High School.

Representing the South team from Chautauqua County will be Zach Rybak, Daniel Torres, Austin Eggleston, Noah Turzillo and Manhattan King.

Rybak is a 6-foot-2, 200-pound strong safety/linebacker from Silver Creek who played for Coach Sean Helmer. He will be joined by Eggleston, his 5-foot-11, 200-pound teammate with the Black Knights, who plays fullback and linebacker.

Torres will be the lone representative from Cassadaga Valley/Falconer. The 6-foot, 190-pound linebacker was coached by Jeff Smith.

Turzillo, a 5-foot-9, 220-pound offensive and defensive lineman will be joined by King, his 6-foot-3, 245-pound teammate who played defensive end for Coach Tom Langworthy.

The South squad will be coached by West Seneca East’s Jim Maurino, Cleveland Hill’s Glen Graham, South Park’s Tim Delaney and Hamburg’s Jeff Tripp. Players from Maryvale, Bishop Timon/St. Jude, West Seneca East, Lackawanna, McKinley, St. Mary’s, South Park, West Seneca West, Depew, Lancaster, Orchard Park, Iroquois, Alden, JFK, Frontier, Eden/North Collins, Lake Shore, East Aurora, Cheektowaga and Springville make up the South team.

The North team, made up of players from Williamsville East, Canisius, Niagara Falls, Kenmore West, Burgard, Bennett, Sweet Home, Cardinal O’Hara, Grand Island, Clarence, Starpoint, Williamsville South, Amherst, Lockport, Medina, Lewiston-Porter, Williamsville North, Newfane, Akron, St. Joe’s, Kenmore East, Hutch Tech, North Tonawanda, Niagara-Wheatfield, Tonawanda and Wilson, will be coached by Williamsville East’s Mike Torillo along with Starpoint’s Al Cavagnaro and Williamsville East’s assistant coaches.
