The YMCA Boxing Club sent two boxers to “Boxing in the Ballroom” held in Cleveland, Ohio recently. YMCA boxer Dayvon Carter (224 pounds), second from the left, took on Cleveland’s undefeated heavyweight DaJuan Calloway (350 pounds). Carter won by decision in three rounds to bring home the Northeast Ohio Super Heavyweight championship. YMCA boxer Hector Folch, second from right, also fought and lost in a close three-round decision. This makes three championships in three months for the YMCA Boxing Club, which had Antonio Torres Jr. win the New York State Gold Gloves Championship in March and the Rochester City Championship in April. The YMCA Boxing Club is free to area teenagers through the Teen Center, and adult boxing is available at a fee with proceeds benefiting youth boxers. Submitted photo
