Bob Crane spent more than 60 years volunteering with the Stanley Hose Company in Sherman. The Sherman man responded to thousands of EMS calls over his time, earning the moniker of “Sherman’s Security Blanket” after his retirement in a letter written by the fire company after Crane’s retirement. Crane is the type of volunteer that’s hard to replace. Crane left large shoes to fill. He’s an exemplary example of the value of community volunteers. Is it safe to say that, right now, no one is happy with our solutions for the homeless in southern Chautauqua County? Republicans and Democrats are like two ships passing in the night when it comes to New York’s energy policy. Both ships are in shallow water with a rocky bottom. I’d like to offer some thoughts about the pending resolution to limit the number of cats that can be owned in the City of Jamestown.
