Another Lesson From The World of Sport

Earlier, last month, was the official end to the major professional golf tournaments of 2025—the final game of the FEDEX Cup. I know that many of you don’t follow golf, so I won’t bore you with the details. But, perhaps, the best headline of the whole year in competitive, professional golf came out of that final match. A journey-man golfer, a guy who had tried 163 times to win a golf tournament but without success...would finally win one, and it would be for the whole “shebang,” Tommy Fleetwood, who had probably come in second on more golf tournaments than any other ...

Public Should Receive Earlier Notification Of Solar, Wind Projects

It is worrisome and disheartening - deja vu, to be targeted yet again by an opportunistic, foreign energy developer. We fought long and hard not to be victimized by eight - almost 500 foot - wind turbines surrounding our home. We ended up with three across the street. A neighbor whose active farmland surrounds our property signed a lease with the solar developer to build a 100 MW solar project with battery storage. That size typically covers about 1,000 acres. The neighbor signed a nondisclosure agreement that prevents him from sharing anything- location, proximity etc. about the ...

Democratic Socialism Versus The Family

The Democratic Socialists of America recently held their national conference to promote their ideology, including the Marxist “Dictatorship of the Proletariat”. This is rich irony: they claim to be democratic, yet push their own dictatorship. But it gets worse - they openly aim to abolish your family. Search Youtube: “Democratic Socialists of America Family”. Be prepared for an onslaught of Marxist dialectics and word salads on par with a Kamala Harris speech. You might also ask why they are still wearing masks. Socialism’s objective (democratic or otherwise) is always to ...

Intolerance Extends Beyond Physical Violence

He was in his thirties, wasn’t a public official, and never sought public office. His faith was solid, and he loved his country. He spoke passionately of his faith and of making his country a better place. Many supported his cause. Others didn’t, and he knew the danger that presented. Nevertheless, he was unflappable. He pressed on. Over time, he won more and more converts to the cause, and became more and more popular among his followers. We’ll never know what he would have accomplished in later years, because one detractor assassinated him with one ...

Cataract Surgery Prompts Medicare Question

Question: I need to have cataract surgery. Does Medicare help pay for this surgery? Answer: Original Medicare is a health insurance product. This means that all of your coverage must be based on a medical problem or diagnoses. Most of us develop age related vision problems. Medicare will cover the appointment to see an eye doctor, like it would for any specialists. Medicare Part B covers the exam. Medicare requires that you see a participating ophthalmologist. Sometimes an optometrist is also included in your coverage, depending on your state. In making your appointment, explain that ...

War Department Not A Good Idea

Our President announced recently that we should rename the Defense Department, the “War Department” because we have not been winning enough wars. That is a bad idea. Maybe it was an idea that came from some of the “issue for the day” people that he has surrounded himself with, i.e. it didn’t originate from him. But, still, war is not something that we should be embracing, promoting or touting in any manner. Congress and the courts should just let the Defense Department remain the “Defense” Department. Let the President sign all of the Executive Orders that he wants ...
