To The Reader’s Forum: If anyone still needs evidence that the current group of morons calling themselves Republicans are living in a delusional, make-believe world it is a recent poll that revealed that only 4 in 10 of these ‘stable geniuses’ think Trump mentioned getting dirt on the Bidens in the infamous call with the Ukrainian president. To The Reader’s Forum: I appreciate your article about the Prendergast Library. We can’t talk too much about what libraries add to our communities. I would like to expand on that by reminding people that we have branch libraries all over Chautauqua and Cattaraugus counties. To The Reader’s Forum: I’d like to applaud the Falconer Lady Falcons soccer team for the car wash they held on Saturday, Sept. 7, at the Jamestown Harley Davidson dealership. Too often today, we see young adults standing at the entrance to Walmart asking for handouts rather than organizing fundraisers and earning the money. When I was a youth, we held car washes, spaghetti dinners and pancake breakfasts to raise funds for youth group trips. To The Reader’s Forum: Permit me to disagree with the last paragraph of your recent article about Bernie Sanders. His goal is not “to be able to boast that he did so”. His goal is really to eliminate the use of fossil fuels in order to stop or slow climate change, or global warming. He believes, as I do, that global warming constitutes an existential danger to the human race. If we fail to take aggressive action, we, and perhaps all life are in great danger.
