Congress Should Handle Tariffs, Not The President

To The Reader’s Forum: I am not a lawyer but I can read and understand simple English. The US Constitution says in Article 1, Section 8 : “The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes, duties, imposts, and excises”. It does NOT say that Congress can delegate that power to any other authority or individual. Where are the “Strict Constructionists” who claim to be conservative? To The Reader’s Forum: Mr. Trump’s firing of Commissioner of Labor Statistics Erika McEntarfer was a dangerous overreach that damaged the credibility of federal statistical data relied on by American businesses, Wall Street, and even other countries. Release The Epstein Files

To The Reader’s Forum: There’s a lot of news lately about the “Epstein Files.” The Wall Street Journal (WSJ), no “liberal rag” mind you, reports that Trump’s name is in the “Epstein Files” to which Trump has sued the WSJ. Just having Trump’s name in the files does not mean Trump has done anything illegal, but the WSJ, led by Rupert Murdoch, has chosen not to settle the suit. Trump/Langworthy Voters Will Lose Benefits

To The Reader’s Forum: I wrote this letter to Rep. Langworthy. What’s the rush to get the so-called “Big Beautiful Bill” passed. Surely, you could take your time to make sure the negative drawbacks of the bill could be ironed out. The obvious, big problems with the bill are 1) that Trump’s bill has an artificial deadline, 2) Senator Lisa Murkowski could have held out for more benefits to Alaska, and that the alleged changes/reductions to health insurance and Medicaid are scheduled to take effect after the midterm election.
