To The Reader’s Forum:

“Never forget” all the men and women who were called to the service of our country. These are the veterans of all the branches of the military that left their family and home to serve in the many conflicts around the world.

Many veterans in our community are deeply involved in veterans’ organizations that support community projects, Veterans Memorial Park, the Memorial Day Parade, placing of American flags at local cemeteries and always ready and willing to help fellow veterans in need.

As a disabled veteran, I want to thank state Senator Catharine Young for the honor she gave me by making me a candidate for the New York State Veterans Hall of Fame. I share this honor with all veterans who have sacrificed their life and to every veteran who served our great country. When you see a veteran, remember to thank him or her for their service. God bless America
