Robert C. Buchanan
Robert Charles “Bob” Buchanan, 78, of Falconer, NY, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 20, 2026. He was born on Dec. 11, 1947, in Salamanca, NY, to the late Robert W. Buchanan and the late Jean McKale.
Robert was a graduate of Jamestown High School, where he was actively involved in track and field. Following graduation, he proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He spent most of his life in the Jamestown, NY and Bradford, PA areas.
A true “jack of all trades,” Robert dedicated many years working in a family-owned and operated garage and body shop. He was known for his strong work ethic and willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
For the past 25 years, Robert made his home in Falconer, NY with his beloved wife, Wilma. He especially enjoyed fishing and found great peace and joy in time spent outdoors. Above all else, Robert cherished every moment with his wife and family. He deeply loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and would do anything for them.
He is survived by his loving wife, Wilma L. Buchanan; his children, Amy Buchanan, Shawn Buchanan, Noel Buchanan, Michael Buchanan, Todd Vergith, and Sheila Neff (Vergith); his grandchildren: Sierra, Emily, Jeanette, Tyler, Joshua, Audree, Christin, Mackensy, Maddison, and Jeremiah; his great-grandchildren: Melody, Nova, Percy, Melody, Wyatt, Patience, Nevaeh, Wyatt, Octavia; a brother Gary (Kim) Buchanan; sisters Georgiana Paul and Jeanne Lanphere; step-sisters Donna (Doug) Breth and Linda Miller; a step-brother Chuck (Donna) McKale; and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Charles McKale, a brother-in-law William Paul, and other loved ones who welcomed him into eternal rest.
Robert will be remembered for his devotion to family, his hardworking spirit, and the love he shared so freely with those around him.
A celebration of Bob’s life will be held in June and details will be announced at a later date.
