Doris S. Paul

Doris was born on June 19, 1927 in Busti, NY, the daughter of the late Charles and Mary Swart Sanbury.

Doris graduated from Jamestown High School in 1944. She worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse at WCA Hospital for many years.

Doris was a long-time member of First Baptist Church in Jamestown, NY. She was an avid rose gardener. She also enjoyed knitting blankets, sweaters and traveling throughout the years.

In addition to her parents, Doris is preceded in death by her husband Ralph M. Paul whom she married on July 4, 1948 and who died on November 19, 2014; four brothers: Herman, Chester, Otis and Arthur Sanbury; four sisters: Nettie Jean Sanbury, Virginia Sanbury, Martha “Marti” Hinsdale and Marian Mollett.

Doris is survived by two sons: Sandy (Valerie) Paul of Bemus Point, NY and Sidney Paul of Fulton Michigan; three grandchildren: Corrine Paul, Bradley Paul and Allyssa (Shane) Gapinski; four great-grandchildren: Torrin, Max, Scarlett and Grayson; many nieces and nephews.

Family suggests memorial contributions to Bemus Point Fire Department, 13 Alburtus Avenue, Bemus Point, NY 14712.

A Celebration of life will be held a later date.
