Delores M. Leonard

She was born March 22, 1928 in Jamestown, NY, the daughter of Cecil and Madeline Ribbing Knott.

Delores attended several schools in Jamestown, Celeron, and Bemus Point and was the Salutatorian of Bemus Point High School in 1946. Following graduation, she worked for two years in the insurance business before marrying in 1948. After spending 20 years raising four children, Delores resumed her career by working in the accounting department at Seidman and Seidman in Jamestown. Several years later, she obtained employment at Chase Bank and later worked in the Trust Department at M&T Bank in Jamestown.

She was a member of the Stillwater United Methodist Church and taught Sunday school classes there for many years. She later attended church services on the LSS campus in Jamestown NY.

Delores enjoyed spending time with her friends and family members. She was an avid reader and enjoyed playing the piano while family members listened and sometimes sang along. Favorite songs included showtunes and other music from the big band era. In later years, Delores and her husband, Herm, were active members of the Chautauqua Squares (a modern square dance club) and she enjoyed line dancing.

Her husband, Herman E. Leonard, died in November, 2017.

Surviving are her four children: Dr. Gregory (Marsha Feltz) Leonard of Jamestown, Martin (Dr. Lorie) Leonard of East Amherst, NY, Cindy (Kurt) Zindler of Jamestown, and Ronald (Marijane) Leonard of North Canton, OH; ten grandchildren: Courtney (Matt) Snyder of Tybee Island, GA, Dr. Kimberley (Philip) Chiappone of Scituate, RI, Lindsey Leonard of Cayahoga Falls, OH, Kristen Leonard of Brooklyn, NY, Alicia (Shaun) Laska of Kiantone, Nicole Kachermeyer of Falconer, Anna Leonard and Julia Leonard, both of North Canton, OH, Ryan Feltz of Scott Township, PA, Jason (Bethany) Feltz of Cheektowaga; eleven great grandchildren: Katherine and Alexander Chiappone,Kelson and Taran Laska, Virginia and William Kachermeyer, Wyatt and Eli Feltz, Kaela and Zoe Feltz, and Madeline Snyder; and one great great granddaughter: Autumn Kachermeyer.

She was preceded in death by two brothers: Leslie Knott and Roy Knott.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 30 in the Falconer Funeral Home. Pastor Mark Swanson and Pastor Laura Csellak will officiate. Inurnment will occur at a later date.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, April 29 and at 10 a.m. (one hour prior to the service) on Tuesday morning at the funeral home.
