Lena M. Springer

She was born Feb. 23, 1919 in Lawrence, Massachusetts and was she daughter of the late Anthony and Rose Giaimo Sciarrino.

Lena lived most of her life on Long Island and was proud of her Italian heritage. She loved spending time with her family and gardening.

Surviving is her son Robert A. (Carrie) Springer of Kennedy; two grandchildren: Bobby (Nicole) Spring of Florida, Lindsey (Josh) Gross of North Carolina; four great grandchildren: Kallen and Carson Springer, Luka and Harper Gross, and a sister Dolly Squirers of Amityville, NY.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert V. Springer whom she married June 1, 1957 in Long Island, who died Oct. 31, 1985; and four brothers: Frank, Sam, Jim, and John Sciarrino.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, 2023 in the Falconer Funeral Home. Rev. Melvin McGinnis will officiate. Burial will be in Calverton National Cemetery on Long Island on Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2023.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service Saturday in the funeral home.
