Susan Melquist

She was born on November 23, 1951, in Fulton, New York, to John and Rose Marie (LoPresto) Peterson. She married Charles Melquist on March 15, 1974, and they were together until his passing in 2005.

Susan is survived by her mother, Rose Marie Peterson, of Falconer, New York; her children, Jon Melquist and Jeanene Melquist, of Bowling Green; her grandson, Gabriel Placke, of Bowling Green; her sister, Leda Peterson, of Jamestown, New York; her brothers, Phil Peterson and Mark Peterson, of Falconer, New York; her lifelong best friend, Kathleen DeSantis, of Jamestown, New York; and many other close family members and dear friends.

Susan most enjoyed taking care of the dogs she has had throughout the years, all of whom she rescued, and for whom she provided a loving home. She enjoyed cooking, family recipes, family stories, music, and placed great importance on staying connected with her loved ones. Susan was a member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses. She worked in the past as a Registered Nurse, and worked as homemaker lifelong, caring for her family.

Services will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Deck-Hanneman Funeral Home in Bowling Green, Ohio.
