Jeannie M. Pagett

Jeannie M. Pagett, 75 of Cattaraugus, NY was promoted to heaven in the early morning hours of April28, 2023.

She was born in Buffalo on August 29, 1947, to the late George and Betty (Peckham) Gardiner.

Jeannie grew up in Otto, NY and graduated from Cattaraugus Central where she enjoyed playing the French Horn. She then attended SUNY Fredonia, graduated with a degree in Early Childhood Education and met and married the love of her life, Joe. Together they worked long hours on the farm they built and raised four children.

Jeannie was a true educator at heart. While raising her own children she volunteered and led La Leche League meetings to encourage and support other mothers in breastfeeding. After all, 4 kids started school, Jeannie decided to follow her passion and returned to the classroom. She spent many years teaching and guiding not only students, but also other teachers and educators. When she wasn’t teaching or farming, she enjoyed gardening, canning and spending time with family and friends. Jeannie was a member of Roberts Memorial Church and co-owner of Heavenly Treasures in Cattaraugus.

Jeannie is survived by her cherished children Jefferson (Jennifer) Pagett, Jolisa Pagett, Joel Trevor Pagett and Jodi (Timothy) Spacek; 11 grandchildren and six great grandchildren; her brothers Charlie (Mary) Gardiner and George (Pam) Gardiner. Also survived by many nieces nephews and cousins.

Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Joe.

Relatives and friends may visit DiStasio Funeral Home 478 Route 83 S. Dayton, NY at Balcom Corners Friday May 5 , 2023 from 3PM to 7PM. A funeral service will be held Saturday May 6, 2023 at Roberts Memorial United Methodist Church 11AM with Pastor Mike Jones officiating.

Interment will be in Villenova Cemetery May 13, 2023 at 11AM
