PORTLAND — Donald E. Warner, 74, of Portland, N.Y., passed away on April 20, 2022, at the Absolut Care of Allegany in Allegany, N.Y.

He was born Nov. 12, 1947, in Westfield, N.Y., the son of the late Kenneth and Cyrena Hathaway Warner.

Don graduated from Jamestown High School, class of 1967. He then proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1967-69. After his honorable discharge, he worked for many years as a vehicle detailer for Hartley Buick in Jamestown, N.Y.

He was a member of the Der Kobblers Automotive Association and was a selftaught guitarist and played guitar in several bands: Colt Station, Buck Shot Flats, The Renegades, and Midnight Chill.

Don loved comedy, making people chuckle, playing the guitar, going to car shows, swap meets, tinkering on cars, and spending time with his family: especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by two children; Stacy (Gary Matthews) Warner of Dewittville, N.Y., and Cale (Melissa) Warner of Silver Creek, N.Y,; four grandchildren; Cayla, Sabra and Caley Warner and Kori Ruddell; one brother. Thomas (Loretta) Warner of Jamestown, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jim Warner.

A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m., on Saturday, May 21, 2022, at the John W. Dill American Legion Post 434 in Brocton, NY (110 W. Main St, Brocton, NY 14716), where military honors will be given. Cool cars/bikes are welcome and encouraged.
