Carl K. Courson

Carl K. Courson, 88, of Brookdale Assisted living died Dec. 30, 2021. He was born May 29, 1933, in Parker, Pa. He was the son of Howard J. and Adda F Jordan, Courson.

He graduated from Allegheny-Parker High School. He was an U.S. Army veteran of the Korean conflict, serving with a psychological warfare unit as a fixed station radio repairman. He retired from Heritage Park Rehab & Skilled Nursing, in the maintenance department. Prior to retirement he worked as plant superintendent of Betts Industries Inc. in Warren Pa., and he worked for AVM Corp. in Jamestown as a tool & die Maker and later as Plant engineer. He served as an apprentice tool & die maker at Slaymaker Lock Co. in Lancaster, Pa. He was a life member of the Frewsburg Fire Co. serving as treasurer for 20 years and a member of The American Legion Post 1.

Surviving are two sons: William (Tess) H. Courson of Jamestown, and Robert (Bonnie) J. Courson of Texas; two daughters: Kay (Ron) L. Giddy of Falconer and Karen A. Chapman of Lakewood; seven grandson: Rick and Chris Hooks, Eric and Mark Chapman, Justin, R.J., and John Courson; two granddaughters: Jessah and Hannah Courson; and eight great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents he was proceeded in death by his wife, Charlotte of 59 years on July 2, 2017; and a stepbrother and stepsister.

No visitation will be observed; A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorials may be made to Frewsburg Fire Company, or the charity of one’s choice.
