Thomas Marino

Thomas Marino, 65, of Jamestown, N.Y., lost his courageous battle with cancer at 4:08 a.m. Saturday, June 12, 2021, in UPMC Chautauqua.

A lifelong area resident, he was born April 4, 1956, in Jamestown, N.Y., a son of the late Sebastian and Angela Crasti Marino.

Tom was a 1974 graduate of Jamestown High School and Jamestown Community College.

Tom worked for the United States Postal Service in Jamestown for many years and was a real estate agent and broker, successfully managing his rental properties in the Jamestown area.

Tom will be remembered as a very creative person as evident by his yearly holiday displays around his home which were enjoyed by everyone. He won many awards over the years for those spectacular displays. He also had a passion for traveling and visited many countries with his husband, Karl. He could always tell of an exciting adventure from all of their travels.

Surviving is his longtime partner and husband, Karl Costello, whom he married Dec. 17, 2017; two sisters: Donna Wood of Erie, Pa., and Sandra (John Ciancio) Nelson of Jamestown; his aunts: Helen (John) Damond, Rita Ellis and Linda (Cliff) Graham; a nephew, Perry Wood; and nieces: Danielle Jakobic, Naomi Leach and Shannon Phelps; as well as several great- nieces, great-nephews and first cousins.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Anthony D. “Rocky” Marino who died Jan. 13, 2021.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Luke F. Fodor, rector of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church will officiate. Entombment will be in the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum.

Friends will be received from noon-2 p.m., Wednesday, two hours prior to the service in the funeral home.
