June A. Cross
WESTFIELD –June A. Cross, 88, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2020, in Westfield, N.Y., at the Absolut Care Nursing Facility where she called home, under Hospice care due to lung cancer.
Born at home on June 17, 1932, to George and Myrtle (Gilbert) Hall, on Denton Corners.
Graduated from Mayville Central School, then married Lyle A. Cross on July 2, both in the summer of 1949. She enjoyed playing bingo, yard saling, working on her grape farm, crafting, and time with family.
June had a great love for her family. Surviving are three children: Eric and Barbara (Cross) Carlson, Dewittville, N.Y., James Cross, Chester, Va., and Randall Cross, Falconer, N.Y.; a special spot in her heart for all of her grandchildren, and great grandchildren; a sister-in- law, Mary Hall; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding June in death were her parents; her husband, Lyle; a daughter, Nancy (Cross) Hobbs; son- in-law, Henry Hobbs; a brother, Earl Hall; and a sister, Violet Pickard.
The funeral will be held at noon on Monday, Jan. 4, 2021, at the Freay Funeral Home in Mayville (139 S Erie St). Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The Rev. Daniel Prewitt will officiate. Burial will be in the Mayville Cemetery.
