Mrs. Beth Marie Colt Deck, 57, of Monroe, N.C., passed away Thursday, Nov. 5, 2020 at her home following a courageous battle with breast cancer.

She was born in Westfield, N.Y. on Jan. 5, 1963 a daughter to the late Albert and Violet Bane Colt. Beth married her spouse Brenda Bivona in 2014 after loving each other for decades.

Nicknamed “Pooh” by her dad, this began a lifetime love of everything Winnie the Pooh beginning a collection of memorabilia that was extensive. She loved spending hours at Disneyland and Walt Disney World looking for just the right items to add to her collection and wardrobe.

Beth was also a sports fan and her favorite sport was football. Even though she was a resident of Western New York, her favorite team was the Miami Dolphins. Trips to Florida included a drive by of Joe Robbie Stadium in Miami and lunch at Dan Marino’s restaurant.

She followed the Toronto Blue Jays baseball team and in later years fell in love with hockey, cheering on the Charlotte Checkers at local games.

Diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 2016, shortly after her mother’s death, began her most important battle. Beth had a reprieve from cancer until spring of 2019, but she never stopped fighting.

Beth was a printing press operator at Belknap Business Forms for over 20 years and served as President of the Union for many years. After moving to North Carolina, she began her 11 1/2 year career at IKEA Home Furnishings where she retired in August of 2020.

Left to cherish her memory: her spouse Brenda Bivona; daughter Melissa Vancise and husband Jim; granddaughters Kayleigh Vancise and Taylor Vancise; great grandsons Ryker Bloomer and Jemeson Bloomer; sister Valeria Colt and spouse Barbara; brother Roy Colt and wife Lisa; nieces Jennifer Betts and husband Nathan and Emily Colt and her beloved pups Kylynn Jo and TJ Bentley. In addition to her parents Beth was preceded in death by a brother Albert “Tigger” Colt, Jr. who died in 1984.

Following the protocols and guidelines set by the Governor of New York, masks and social distancing will be observed for walk through visiting hours to be held on Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2020 from 1-3 p.m. and again from 6-8 p.m. at the MORSE Funeral Home, 51 Highland Ave. , Brocton, NY 14716 where funeral services will be held there at 11 am Wednesday, November 11, 2020 with Deaconess Barbara Colt officiating. Interment will follow in Portland Evergreen Cemetery.
