Amber L. Swanson

Amber L. Swanson

Amber L. Swanson, 41, of Lakewood, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, Aug. 15, 2020. She is finally home with her son, Marley, following her difficult battle with addiction.

She was born in Jamestown on Nov. 8, 1978, and was the daughter of Karin “Penny” Carlson Swanson Erb and Bradley S. Swanson Sr.

Remembrances of her are many, and include: Her wish was to live a simple life. She loved collecting tools, both new and old and she was always interested in learning how things worked. Her car was part of her, which she named Fernando. She enjoyed watching the sunrise everyday and loved to walk at sundown and gaze at the colors in the sky. She enjoyed the outdoors, mowing grass and picking flowers. Painting on canvas gave her serenity and peace – she was a starving artist in a sense. She could make clothes with ease and enjoyed selling them at the music festivals she so loved.

Her love for her two sons was always as high as a mountain and she used to recall time with her grandma and grandpa on the lake. She also loved her cats, which she named Trump, Momma and Little Bit. She lit up every room she ever walked into and many times her brilliance was overlooked. She was a loving person who will be missed by all who knew her.

Surviving is her son, Chance Templar; her mother, Karin “Penny” Swanson Erb (Mark) of Sinclairville and her father, Bradley S. Swanson Sr. of Jamestown; her significant other, Tod Vincent of Lakewood; brother, James “JT” Kote; sister, Brandy Kote and her daughter, KirraBella Snarski; sister, Danielle Basile Russell (William) and their children: William Jr. and Carley; brother, Bradley R. Swanson (Amy) and their children: Jaxson and Aubrey; brother, Alex S. Swanson; and brother, Caleb P. Erb.

Also surviving are her aunts and uncles: Craige Swanson, Mark Swanson and the late Stephen Swanson, Becky Nystrom and the late Cherie Giambelluca, all of whom were always very supportive of Amber; and her cousins, Melissa Goldberg and Lisa Giambelluca.

She was preceded in death by her son, Marley V. Swanson, who died July 3, 2017; paternal-grandparents, Ron and Doris Swanson; and maternal grandparents, Verne and Joan Carlson.
