Lynn J. “Skip” Edsall

Lynn J. “Skip” Edsall, 80, of Hyde Park, Panama, N.Y., passed peacefully in his sleep, joining his loved ones to be in the presence of our Lord and Savior on Monday June 29, 2020, in the Heritage Green Rehab and Skilled Nursing.

He was born Sept. 20, 1939, in Jamestown, N.Y., a son of the late Arthur and Marie Swanson Edsall.

Prior to his retirement in 2001, he was employed by the Cummins Engine Jamestown Plant as a machinist.

He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Panama Volunteer Fire Department and The Celoron Rod and Gun Club Inc.

He enjoyed bowling at both the Panama and Cutting Lanes, hunting, training horses and watching them race.

A gifted musician, he could play any instrument he put his hands on. He played and sang with many local bands at area venues. He filled his home with music and love for his family.

Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Pauline Furlow Edsall, whom he married July 22, 1961; three daughters: Barbara (Wayne) Emory, Cindy Edsall and Pam (Rhett) McJunkin; nine grandchildren: Shauna LeRoy, Justin LeRoy, Nicole Osborne, Jeff (Chelsea) Edsall, Sarah, Janelle, and Mallory Clark, Jill (Thomas) Johnson and Corey Chase; four great-grandchildren: Kollin, Brayden, Aaron and Adalynn; several step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren; a brother, Gary Edsall; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Ronald Edsall and an infant, Lawrence Eugene Edsall.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 3, 2020, in the Panama United Methodist Church 22 E. Main St, Panama, NY 14767. The Rev. Stephen Taylor will officiate. The funeral will also be recorded and live streamed at http:// livestream.com/ panamaum/edsall

A private inurnment will be in the Blockville Union Cemetery at a later date.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday in the church and for one hour prior to the service Friday in the church. Due to the current virus outbreak masks and social distancing will be required.
