Dorothy P. Jader

Dorothy P. Jader, 99, of 715 Falconer St., Jamestown, passed away at 8:20 a.m., Wednesday, March 4, 2020, in the Lutheran Home and Rehabilitation Center, just one month shy of her 100th birthday.

A lifelong area resident, she was born April 3, 1920, in Jamestown, N.Y., a daughter of the late Nels Eric and Agnes Swanson Palm.

She was a 1938 graduate of Jamestown High School and was a former member of the Thule Lodge 127 VASA Order of America.

She will be remembered as a loving and caring mother and grandmother, who loved to knit and play cards with her friends.

Before her retirement years, she was employed as a clerk for the former Top Value Stamps Store and the former Murphy’s Department Store in downtown Jamestown.

Surviving are two daughters: Connie Krasinski and Sharon (Walter) Carlson, both of Jamestown; three grandchildren: Philip (Lynsey) Carlson of New Providence, N.J., Adam (Seana Chirico) Carlson of Tonawanda, N.Y., and Laurie (Jim) Goss of Getzville, N.Y.; four great-grandchildren: Ryan Goss of Getzville, Matt Goss of Dallas, Texas, Henrik Carlson and Whitney Carlson of New Providence.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lester E. Jader, who died May 22, 1966; three brothers: Roger Palm, Sherwood “Shorty” Palm and Robert Palm and her son-in-law, Adelbert Ronald Krasinski, who died Oct. 23, 2019.

Dorothy’s family would like to thank the staff of the Lutheran Home for their loving care and concern during the past several years.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Timothy Hoyer, will officiate. Burial will be in the Lake View Cemetery.

Friends will be received from 4-7 pm Friday in the funeral home.
