Donna Mae Borstorff

Donna Mae Borstorff,74, of Sumter, S.C., formerly of Jamestown, N.Y., went home to be with our loving father on Feb. 29, 2020, surrounded by family in her home.

Donna is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Frances Bryant; two sisters and two brothers; her late husband, Daniel R. Borstorff, whom she married March 9, 1974; a son, Ricky Borstorff; and great- grandson, Dieondre Hubbard.

Donna was born Jan. 17, 1946, to Frank and Frances Bryant. She worked for many years at the Jamestown Sewing Company before becoming a certified nurses aid at the former Fenton Park Nursing Home, where she worked for many years before she became the owner of Double D’s Tavern. Donna later retired and became a foster grandparent for the Team program in Jamestown.

Donna was a loving mother, grandmother and friend to many. She loved being with her family and taking care of others. Donna enjoyed playing pinochle, coloring, shopping, eating out and going to Myrtle Beach on vacations. Donna later moved to South Carolina in 2018.

Donna was a former member of The Jamestown Moose Club. She also became a member of Zion Covenant Church where she was baptized. Donna was a strong women and a lung cancer survivor. She will be truly missed by many.

Donna is survived by her children: Daniel, Daryl and Dawn Dye, all of Jamestown, N.Y., Don Dye of Lake Placid, Fla., and Rhonda Hultin of Sumter South Carolina; her grandchildren Christine Simpson. Rick, Shawn and Chloe Dye, Tiffany (Sean), Brandon and Ashley Andolora. Jake and Angel Kuhn and Sabrina Troutman; along with 19 great- grandchildren.

A celebration of life Service will be held at The Jamestown Salvation Army with dinner following to be announced at a later date. Pastor Steve Kilburn will be conducting the service.
