Diana L. Dean

A lifelong area resident, she was born Jan. 30, 1939, in Jamestown, N.Y., a daughter of the late Martin and Frances Fedorsic Misck.

In earlier years, she had worked as a cook for the former Triangle Restaurant. She will be remembered as a loving and caring mother and grandmother.

Surviving are a daughter, Diana Young of Jamestown, with whom she made her home; a son, Ned E. (Michelle Hines) Dean Jr. of Kennedy, N.Y.; six grandchildren; Ashley (Alberta Acevedo) Young, Mark (Felicia Simpson) Young Jr., Kevin (Sabrina Platt) Young, Nicole (Dan) Nelson, Lauren Dean and Lindsey (Andrew Davis) Dean; 13 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Annette Mitchell of Maryland.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ned E. Dean Sr. whom she married Feb. 20, 1965, and who died Nov. 19, 2005; a sister, Helen Stalter; and her son-in-law, Mark A. Young Sr. who died June 19, 2015.

The funeral will be held at noon Thursday, Feb. 6, 2020, in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Timothy Phelps, hospice chaplain will officiate. Burial will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Ashville, N.Y.
