Roberta G. Barber

Roberta G. Barber, 92, formerly of Route 380 Sinclairville, passed away Wednesday (December 11, 2019) in Heritage Village Rehab and Skilled Nursing, Gerry.

A lifelong area resident, she was born July 22, 1927, in Conewango, the daughter of the late Garold and Doris Mett Brown.

Roberta was a graduate of Randolph High School and was a dedicated homemaker for most of her life. She along with her husband, Loyd were foster parents and cared for numerous children.

Roberta was a member of the Farm Bureau, Centralia Grange, Garden Club and attended South Stockton Wayside Chapel.

Surviving are two sons: James L. (Susan) Barber and Otis W. (Patricia) Barber, all of Sinclairivlle; a daughter, Sandra (Steven) Wheeler of Coatesville, Pa.; eight grandchildren: David Barber, Cheryl Chase, Deborah Oakes, Erin Gray, Zachary Wheeler, Ashleigh Stroble, John Barber and Kathryn Wood; 19 great- grandchildren; one great- great-granddaughter; two brothers: Clayton (Barbara) Brown and Leone (Janet) Brown; four sisters: Beatrice (Donald) Swanson, Oneita (Jack) Silliman, Althea (Walt) Harrington, Selva Thompson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Loyd T. Barber, whom she married March 2, 1946, in Conewango Valley, and who died Nov. 25, 2012; a brother, Harlow Brown; three sisters: Verlene Green, Arbutus Ortolano and Arminta Taylor.

The funeral will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in Park United Methodist Church, 49 Sinclair Dr., Sinclairville. John Barber, her grandson will officiate. Burial will be in Red Bird Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Tuesday in the church.
