Richard W. Ruth

Richard W. Ruth, 94, of Falconer, passed away Tuesday (Oct. 1, 2019) in his home.

He was born Feb. 5, 1925, in Showers, Pa., the son of the late Charles and Margaret Stover Ruth.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and in earlier years was employed by General Electric and Crescent Tool. Prior to retirement he was employed by Chautauqua Hardware for 45 years.

An avid outdoorsman he enjoyed hunting and fishing, telling stories and family time.

Surviving are five daughters: Margaret Giambelluca of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Helen (Dennis) Lee of Jamestown, Rebecca (Tom) Edstrom of Frewsburg; Brenda (Tom) Fitch of Smethport, Pa., and Shirley (Mike) Anderson of Kennedy; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a sister, Helen Eddy Blair of Arkansas; also surviving a cousin, who was his hunting and fishing buddy, Jack Saboski; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Susie V. Ruth, whom he married May 15, 1948, who died in 2017; a daughter, Vera Hazenburg; four brothers: Glenn, Charles, Wayne and Henry Ruth.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the Falconer Funeral Home. The Rev. Robert Reeves will officiate the service. Burial will be in Corydon Riverview Cemetery, Corydon, Pa.

The family will receive friends Monday from noon-2 p.m. in the funeral home.
