Charles H. Hagadorn

Charles H. Hagadorn, 80, of Jamestown, passed away unexpectedly at 6:14 p.m., Saturday, May 4, 2019, in UPMC Chautauqua.

An area resident for most of his life, he was born Dec. 21, 1938, in New Castle, Pa., a son of the late Charles and Amelia Thies Hagadorn.

Chuck was a 1957 graduate of Chautauqua Central School and received his associate’s degree from Jamestown Community College. He earned his bachelor’s degree in education from The State University of New York at Oswego and his master’s degree from Long Beach State University.

Before his retirement, he was employed by the Jamestown Public School System as an industrial art teacher for 26 years, working at Jefferson Junior High School and Jamestown High School.

He had a strong faith in God and was an active member of the First Covenant Church, where faithfully served in numerous ways. He was a lifelong fan of the New York Yankees and enjoyed spending time with family and friends at the lake.

Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Brenda Carlson Hagadorn, whom he married July 1, 1967; his three children: Stacey (Randy) Daugharthy of Cranberry Township, Pa., Michael (Catherine) Hagadorn of Russell, Pa., and Jennifer (Matthew) Lion of Orlando, Fla.; seven grandchildren: Erik and Kate Daugharthy of Cranberry Township, Pa., Erin and Emily Hagadorn of Russell, Pa., Connor, Grant and Alexander Lion all of Orlando, Fla.; a brother, Phillip Hagadorn of Clarence, N.Y.; as well as many other family members and lifelong friends.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Diane Durbin; and two brothers: Robert Hagadorn and Larry Hagadorn.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday in the First Covenant Church. The Rev. Adam Rohler, pastor will officiate. Burial will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery.

Friends will be received from 5-8 p.m., Wednesday in the Lind Funeral Home.
