Marilyn Christine Petersen Mimm Pollino

Marilyn Christine Petersen Mimm Pollino, 83, formerly of 995 Hunt Road, Lakewood, finished her journey in life and has gone home to be with her Lord on Monday, Dec. 24, 2018, in the Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility.

Marilyn was born Oct. 5, 1935, in Warren, Pa., the daughter of the late Christian and Laura Shows Petersen.

She graduated from the Warren Area High School in 1953. Marilyn loved music. She taught piano and organ in her homes, in stores and studios to children, seniors and those in between. At the age of eight, Marilyn played piano (and sang) on a weekly Salvation Army radio boardcast. She served as church pianist/organist/choir director in many churches, in Jamestown, N.Y., Warren, Sharpsville, Defiance, Pa., Miami, Marianna, and Melborne, Fla. She especially enjoyed her children’s choirs. She was a member of the Jamestown Church of The Nazarene.

Marilyn loved her family well. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Barabara; first husband, Donald Mimm; and a daughter, Judy Mimm.

Among those surviving are her devoted husband, Joseph A. Pollino Jr.; brothers: David and Tom Petersen; children: Cheryl (Sherry) Rieser (Michael), Donald Mimm (Dana), Paula Roberts (Nathan), Lisa Petric (Mark), David Mimm (LIz), Linda Moreo (Alex); 18 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren; as well as beloved, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The funeral service will be held Dec. 29, at 1 p.m. in the Jamestown Church of The Nazarene, 405 Howard Ave., Jamestown, N.Y. The Rev. Dr. Mark Hanson, pastor, will officiate.

The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service in the church.
