Lois Morse

Lois Morse, 94, of Westfield, N.Y., died peacefully and returned to God’s Love in heaven on Oct. 9, 2018.

Lois was born April 18, 1924, in Westfield, to Burt and Lena (Foote) Bentley. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harry Morse; two daughters: Cindy and Cheryl Morse; her granddaughter, Madeline Prein; her brother, Roy Bentley; and her two sisters: Ruby Stewart and Marjorie Bentley.

Lois grew up in Westfield and raised her family here. She married Harry Morse on June 22, 1946. She and Harry owned Southside Builders supply for many years. Lois worked as a social worker for the Chautauqua County Department of Social Services. She spent 30 years in beloved Tucson, Ariz. During her time in Tucson, she worked as a social worker at Tucson Medical Center.

Lois was an avid golfer both in Westfield and Tucson. She played in several leagues and scored two “hole in ones” during her lifetime. She had many good golfing friends and was a supportive friend to all wherever she lived.

Her greatest joy in life was the time she spent with her children and grandchildren. She will always be remembered for her kindness and acceptance of people no matter who they were or where they came from.

Lois is survived by her children: Kay (Donald) Gulick of St. Augustine Fla., Anne (Tom Hough) M. Roggenbaum of Westfield, and Lori (Mark Prein) Morse of Lakeside, Ariz.; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and two nieces: Nancy Hanks of Gary, N.Y., and Beverly Gilmore of Manlius, N.Y.

A memorial service will be held at the Pavilion in Forest Park (Barcelona, N.Y.) on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2018, at noon.
