Milford H. Thompson Sr. “Dutz”

Milford H. “Dutz” Thompson Sr., 74, of Ashville, passed away Thursday (Sept. 6, 2018) in his home.

Born Oct. 5,1943 in Pittsburgh, Pa., he was the son of the late Milford E. and Grace Hilty Thompson. Milford married his wife, Dolores A. Thompson on May 8, 1965, in Pittsburgh Pa.

An area resident most of his life, Milford worked for Crescent Tool and Die Company and retired from Paragon Drilling Company.

He was an active member of the Vietnam Veterans Assocation 865 and participated in the color guard, a member and past board member of the AMVETS 50, Herman Kent Post 777, American Legion, Celoron Moose 2587, Jamestown Eagles 2145, The Chautauqua Lake Fisherman’s Association “The Fish Club” in Celoron, Allen Park Mens Club, Busti Mens Club and the Henry Mosher Post 638, American Legion.

He was a diehard fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Buffalo Sabres and the Chicago Cubs.

Milford is survived by his wife of 53 years, Dolores; four daughters: Diane Kress, Patricia Kress, Darlene Kress, all of Louisville, Ky., and Brenda Grace Thompson of Jamestown; as well as two sons: Kevin Thompson of North Carolina and Brian Thompson of Jamestown; two sisters: Grace “Sis” Hess and Beverly Miller; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Milford H. Thompson Jr.; and a brother, Robert G. Thompson.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Monday in the Falconer Funeral Home.
