Barbara C. Sprague

A lifelong area resident she was born Sept. 22, 1930 in Falconer, the daughter of the late Ernest and Hazel Stilson Carlson.

Barbara was a 1948 graduate of Falconer High School and was later employed by the school as a cook manager.

She enjoyed reading and cooking and spending time with friends and family.

Surviving are three daughters: Cindy Wilson of Camillus, N.Y., Marcia Cady of Manchester, Conn., and Jeanette (Bob) Hanacek of Boston, Mass.; several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, as well as a brother, Norman Carlson of Florida. Barb will also be sadly missed by her special friend, Stephanie Carlson, who cared for her for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger D. Sprague, whom she married Aug. 9, 1949 in Falconer; a son, Stephen W. Sprague, and a son-in-law, Steve Wilson.

A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Visitation will not be observed.

Due to Barb’s love of animals, memorials may be donated to New Hope Assistance Dogs Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to training animals for physical and emotional support for those with disabilities found at 3 Scott Run Rd Warren PA, 16365.
