Ronald “Ron” F. Lorenc

Ronald “Ron” F. Lorenc, 68, formerly of Jamestown, passed away June 9, 2018, after a hearty breakfast. He was born on April 12, 1950, to the late Delephine and Edward Lorenc in Jamestown, where he resided most of his life.

Ron graduated from Jamestown High School and began work at WCA Hospital at age 16, where he remained employed for over 45 years. Ron retired in 2014 due to an accident that caused a traumatic brain injury. He then resided at Absolut Care of Westfield, where he remained a lively resident until his death, often joking with his care staff.

As an avid sports fan, Ron was a passionate Buffalo Bills and Sabres supporter and also watched baseball, basketball and NASCAR. Ron also loved music, particularly heavy metal, but later came to appreciate mellower music. He respected and admired pets and enjoyed their company when they came to visit him at the nursing home.

He is survived by his brother, E. Terry (Cyndi) Lorenc and niece, Hannah of Jamestown; sister, Barbara (Jerry) Kittle and nephew, Christopher of Westfield; daughter, Delphine Lorenc of Jamestown; and son, Ronald Lee Lorenc of Tupper Lake, N.Y.; as well as five grandchildren: Sean, Mariah and Andre Lorenc, Damian Ortiz and Kyle Stewart.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., on Wednesday, June 20, 2018, at the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Donald E. Ray, who knew Ron through his work as a chaplain at WCA Hospital, will officiate the service. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Road, Jamestown, NY 14701.
