Donald R. Baker

He was born April 23, 1953, in Wellsville, N.Y., the son of Junior R. and Dorothy Ackerman Baker.

Don was a 1971 graduate of Northern Potter High School and a 1973 graduate of Alfred State College.

For 43 years, he was employed at Weber Knapp Co., retiring in 2016.

Don enjoyed fishing, building models, trains, bowling, golfing, NASCAR and watching all sports. In earlier years, he was a volunteer fireman. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and watching their activities.

Surviving are his father of Genesee, Pa.; his wife of 43 years, Ruth Hall Baker; two daughters: Elizabeth (Eric) Hagglund of Bemus Point, N.Y., and Melissa (Raymond III) Eldermayer of Cheektowaga, N.Y.; three grandchildren, Ireland Hagglund, Raymond Eldermayer IV and Daisy Eldermayer; a sister, Kimberly Johnston of Bradford, Pa.; and two brothers: William Baker and Steven Baker, both of Genesee, Pa.

He was preceded in death by his mother and his grandparents.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. Fri-day and for one hour prior to the service Saturday in the funeral home.

Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
