Beverly D. Bailey

Beverly D. Bailey, 78, of West Ellicott, passed away Friday, Nov. 27, 2015, in the emergency room of WCA Hospital.

A lifelong area resident, she was born March 9, 1937, in Warren, Pa., the daughter of the late Albert W. and Katherine Klocek Dahle, and was a 1955 graduate of Jamestown High School.

Throughout her career, she had been secretary to the president of the former Crescent Tool, legal secretary for attorney H. James Abdella and retired after serving as secretary to the president of Aarque Management in Lakewood.

For 11 years, Beverly was the president of the board of directors of the Chautauqua Home Rehabilitation & Improvement Corporation (CHRIC), and for 10 years president of the board of Fourth Street Housing at the YMCA. She was a 51-year member of the Celoron Fire Department Auxiliary, having held many and all offices, as well as a former vice president of the Chautauqua County Fire Auxiliary. Beverly also belonged to the Jamestown Rifle Club, Herman Kent Post American Legion Auxiliary and the Lakewood Rod & Gun Club Auxiliary.

Surviving are two sons: Kevin D. (HopeAnne) Bailey of Lakewood and Scott F. (Sandra) Bailey of Celoron; six grandchildren: Samantha, Mark, Charles, Benjamin, Jordan and Katelyn; and a great-grand- daughter, Avery Hope.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel A. Dahle in 2002.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Richard Huber will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the Lind Funeral Home. Friends will be received from 3-7 p.m. Sunday at Lind’s.
