The Chautauqua County Humane Society is desperately looking for good, loving homes for three dogs that have been in their shelter for over 100 days.

The three dogs, Popcorn, Bear and Bruce, are all mixed breed, male dogs. Popcorn is four years old, Bear is three and Bruce is one.

Kathleen Delaney, the Humane Society’s enrichment and behavior coordinator, said Popcorn has been at the Humane Society the longest.

“Popcorn is our longest-stay pup and would love a family to call his own,” Delany said. “He is a staff and volunteer favorite, and loves leaving the shelter on outings. He is great with kids of all ages, and is smart and easy to train. He is active and friendly and filled with constant joy.”

According to his bio on the Humane Society’s website, Popcorn is boundlessly energetic and playful and has a zest for life. His bio also describes Popcorn as never failing “to bring a sense of excitement to any situation.”

Popcorn has a love for exploration, making friends with humans and other animals, and is always “up for cuddles and belly rubs after a long day of adventures.” He is also known for being loyal and finding happiness in every moment.

The second dog, Bruce, is known for his joy and being active.

“Bruce is so full of life and silly antics,” Delany said. “He is one year old, and needs an active family. He is incredibly smart and easily trainable and he loves playing with other dogs and would love a dog friend in his new home.”

Bruce’s bio describes him as a “whirlwind of fur and infectious joy” with enough zest for life to power a small city. He is known for turning every moment into an adventure and having a heart of gold.

Three year old Bear has some vision issues to navigate, but Delany said he gets through them every day.

“Bear is three years old and absolutely darling,” Delany said. “He has some vision issues, and he is a teeny bit shy and timid because of that, but he is becoming more and more confident every single day.”

Bear’s bio tells how he came to the Humane Society as a stray, saying “his past (is) a mystery but his spirit unmistakable.” Bear is known for navigating his vision challenges with “great aplomb and adorableness” and is a “bundle of goofiness and love.”
