JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT — Heidi S. Waite-Coone, 43, was charged with second-degree falsely reporting an incident. At about 1:21 p.m. Saturday, officers were dispatched to assist fire and rescue with a reported chair on fire inside a southside residence. Upon arrival, Jamestown Fire Department was able to conclude that there was no fire, or any evidence of an extinguished fire. Officers were then able to determine that Waite-Coone called for emergency services regarding an alleged chair on fire for no legitimate purpose, misusing emergency services and personnel. Heidi ...

CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE – PORTLAND – Anthony R. Johnson, 34, of West Seneca was charged Thursday morning with second-degree criminal trespass. At about 5:30 a.m. deputies responded to an address on Route 20 in the town of Portland for a suspicious male inside a residence sleeping, later identified as Johnson. He was arrested and released on an appearance ticket to appear in the Portland Town Court on a later date. ELLICOTT POLICE DEPARTMENT - Branden A. Brown, 33, of Falconer was charged with second-degree aggravated harassment after an incident Oct. 26, 2021. Brown allegedly threatened bodily harm to the victim while using a Facetime app. An arrest warrant was issued after the incident, but Brown did not live in the area at the time. JAMESTOWN FIRE DEPARTMENT — A house fire at 71 Allen St. that injured a city firefighter is being blamed on carelessly discarded matches. Jamestown Fire Department responded to smoke and the smell of smoke in the basement apartment around 10:30 a.m. Sunday and found light smoke pushing from the eaves. A primary search of the entire house ensured all occupants were evacuated. During overhaul, crews found more fire in the ceiling of apartment 4. CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT —CHAUTAUQUA --- Deputies attempted to stop a vehicle on Friday morning. The operator failed to comply and fled the area. A short time later the vehicle was found inoperable and abandoned. At about 8:15 a.m. Deputies were dispatched to Route 430 in Dewittville for a suspicious male. The male identified himself as Samuel A Hernandez Garcia, 23, of Elyria Ohio. While speaking with Hernandez Garcia he did attempt to flee the area on foot. CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT — CHAUTAUQUA — At around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office conducted a vehicle and traffic stop on Route 430 in the town. Through an investigation, the operator of the vehicle, David R Ralph II, 35, of Westfield, was found to be driving while intoxicated. Ralph was charged with felony driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated per se, moving from lane unsafely, and failure to keep right.
