Guzda, 18, of Ashville was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance at 5:39 p.m. Saturday after officers brought him into the city jail on an active arrest warrant. CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT — At around 10:15 p.m. Friday, the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office conducted a traffic stop on Route 60 in the city of Jamestown. The operator was identified as Kevin R. Martin, 25, of Jamestown. Further investigation found Martin to be operating the motor vehicle while impaired by drugs. Martin was charged with DWAI-drugs, failure to keep right, and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operator. Martin will answer for his charges on a later date and time. JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT - Tyler A. Perez, 41, of Jamestown was charged with two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, tampering with physical evidence and resisting arrest at 4:45 p.m. Thursday after city police officers saw Perez leaving a south side business knowing he had a felony warrant issued by Jamestown City Court. Perez allegedly ran from officers and, after a brief pursuit, was taken into custody. During the foot pursuit, Perez allegedly attempted to dispose of illegal drugs. CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE – HANOVER – Kimberly R. Bennett, 40, of Farnham was charged Tuesday with endangering the welfare of a child, unlicensed operator and failed to yield right of way on a left turn Tuesday night following a vehicle accident. It is alleged that around 5:50 p.m. Bennett allowed her unlicensed juvenile daughter to operate the vehicle on Route 5 and 20 which caused a personal injury accident to occur. JAMESTOWN POLICE - Johnathon Robert Martinez, 21, of Jamestown was charged with third-degree assault and criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation at 4:59 a.m. Wednesday after officers responded to an east side address for a reported domestic dispute. Martinez allegedly applied pressure to another person’s neck, making the person unable to breathe for a short period of time. JAMESTOWN POLICE - Illinois D. Jackson, 21, of Jamestown, and Makhai A. Sheehan, 20, of Jamestown were charged after a fight at 6:27 p.m. Monday on the city’s north side. According to a police report officers were flagged down while on patrol. Jackson allegedly became disorderly and shoved another person while they were holding a baby and then allegedly threatened another person during the incident.
