CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE – CELORON – On Thursday around 12:15 a.m., the Celoron Fire Department and several mutual aid departments responded to a garage fire at 22 W 9th St. After extinguishing the fire, the Chautauqua County Fire Investigation Team determined that the fire originated in the northeast portion of the garage and was caused by the malfunction of a lithium-ion battery back.
ELLICOTT POLICE - Kaylee M. Smith, 33, of Frewsburg was charged with second-degree harassment and third-degree criminal tampering at 10:45 p.m. Aug. 31. It’s alleged Smith threw a large soft drink striking an employee at a local fast food business in Ellicott. Smith was later found in Frewsburg and issued an appearance ticket.
