REPORTED ELECTRICAL FIRE IN KITCHEN Both Dunkirk and Fredonia Fire Departments responded to a fire in the city before noon. According to scanner reports, the blaze was electrical and in the kitchen at 303 Lake Shore Drive and was called in around 11:45 a.m. Sunday. WESTFIELD POLICE - Clarence J. Williams III, 45, of the Thruway Motel, Westfield, was charged with failure to verify as a sex offender at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday by Westfield police officers. According to a police report, Westfield police officers received a tip Tuesday that a Level 2 registered sex offender was living in the Thruway Motel in Westfield without properly updating his address with local law enforcement or the state Sex Offender Registry. JAMESTOWN POLICE - Joseph Helms, 43, and Cody Reichenbach, 31, both of Jamestown, were charged with third-degree burglary, third-degree criminal mischief, possession of burglar’s tools, and third-degree criminal tampering at 1:11 p.m. Tuesday after officers responded to a reported burglary in progress at a north side address. Deputies said she was found sleeping in a vehicle in a parking lot of a village business on Route 430 around 7 a.m. She allegedly had narcotics in her possession. CHERRY CREEK CAR FIRES BEING PROBED CHERRY CREEK — At 6:09 a.m. Sunday, the Cherry Creek Fire Department responded to Dredge Ditch Road in the Town of Cherry Creek for a reported vehicle fire. The Chautauqua County Fire Investigation Team was requested to the scene to conduct an origin and cause fire investigation.
