JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT
– Ayomide Israel-Akindo, 22, was charged Nov. 14 with obstructing governmental administration, and resisting arrest. According to police, at about 5:46 p.m., officers responded to the UCAN City Mission for a reported unwanted person on the premises. Police said officers arrived on scene and were advised by staff that Israel-Akindo was no longer welcome on the property. Officers previously had removed Israel-Akindo from two separate housing developments earlier after he was arrested on Nov. 13 for the same nature, and released with an appearance ticket due to New York State Bail Reform. While escorting Israel-Akindo off the property, police said, he allegedly became combative with officers. After a brief struggle, Israel-Akindo was placed into custody without incident, and taken to Jamestown City Jail. He will be in Jamestown City Court later.
– Danielle R. Raynor, 38, of Jamestown was charged Nov. 25 with petit larceny, second-degree obstructing governmental administration, and resisting arrest. According to police, at about 3:46 a.m., officers responded to 7-Eleven on North Main Street for a reported shoplifting incident. Upon arrival, officers spoke with a store employee. Through investigation it was found that Raynor allegedly had stolen merchandise from the store. She was located a short distance from the store, and then allegedly became combative with officers while being placed into custody. After a brief struggle, Raynor was placed into custody without incident, and then taken to city jail. She will be in city court later.
– Noah Smith, 19, of Jamestown, was charged Nov. 20 with two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. According to police, at about 4:30 a.m., officers responded to the La Quinta Inn and Suites on West Third Street for a reported trespass complaint. Upon arrival, officers located Smith inside the business. Officers also had prior knowledge that Smith had an outstanding warrant from Jamestown City Court. Upon further investigation, it was found that Smith was in alleged possession of a quantity of liquid methadone, and a small quantity of cocaine. Smith was placed into custody, and taken to the city jail, and will be in city court later.
– Joseph A. McWillson, 37, was charged Nov. 25 with third-degree criminal tampering, resisting arrest, two counts of fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property. According to police, at about 9:15 a.m., McWillson allegedly kicked over a city-owned and maintained in front of the police department, which caused the garbage to come out. Officers attempted to place him into custody, but McWillson allegedly resisted arrest and fought with officers. After a brief struggle, McWillson was placed into custody and walked into the city jail. While in jail, McWillson was found to be in alleged possession of mail belonging to several local businesses. He will be in city court later.
CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT
– Kathy J. Freedline, 53, of Jamestown was charged Nov. 24 with fourth-degree welfare fraud, fourth-degree grand larceny, and first-degree offering a false instrument for filing. According to officials, her arrest came after an investigation with the sheriff’s office in partnership with the Chautauqua County Department of Mental Hygiene and Social Services Program Integrity Unit, and the District Attorney’s Office. It is alleged that between October 2021 and April of 2024, Freedling allegedly received over $22,000 in public benefits of which she was not entitled. She will be in Jamestown City Court later.
WESTFIELD POLICE DEPARTMENT
– Donald Baker, 66, was charged Nov. 24 with trespass. According to police, at about 9:35 a.m., Westfield Academy and Central School Resource and Security officer called to report Baker allegedly was trespassing on school property. Baker previously was advised that he was not welcome on school grounds after he was found to be in the area that was not open to the public. Baker will be in Westfield Town Court later.
