Area Police Reports
JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT
¯ Elijah Keefe, 21, of Jamestown, was charged with second-degree burglary, second-degree criminal contempt, fourth-degree stalking, fourth-degree criminal mischief, third-degree criminal tampering, second-degree obstructing governmental administration and endangering the welfare of a child. Patrol responded at 2:55 p.m. Monday to the north side of the city for a report of a person who forced entry into a residence. It was determined that Keefe allegedly damaged a door in order to gain entry into a home and remove a juvenile relative. Keefe additionally violated an order of protection due to these actions. Officers followed up at a residence nearby and determined that Keefe had entered the nearby residence and barricaded himself and the juvenile in a room. Keefe allegedly refused to exit the room and officers eventually were forced to make entry. Keefe was taken into custody without further incident and the child was returned safely to family members. He was held for arraignment.
City Man Sentenced To State Prison
A 38-year-old Jamestown man has been sentenced to 10 years in state prison and 20 years of post-release supervision. Jeffery Bair pleaded guilty in March to a charge of first-degree course of sexual conduct against a child, a class B felony. He was sentenced Monday by Judge David Foley in Chautauqua County Court. “Mr. Schmidt would like to thank the Child Advocacy Program staff for their dedication to Chautauqua County’s child victims, without them prosecuting this types of cases would be exponentially more difficult,” Chautauqua County District Attorney Jason Schmid said in a statement. “Mr. Schmidt would also like to thank the Jamestown Police Department’s Juvenile Unit for their hard work on this case.”
