CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

¯ Johnathan Y. Dejesus-Godineaux, 21, of Jamestown, was charged with second- and third-degree criminal possession of stolen property, two counts of first-degree reckless endangerment, driving while ability impaired by drugs, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, unregistered motor vehicle, uninsured motor vehicle, uninspected motor vehicle, speed not reasonable, moved from lane unsafely, fail to display number plate and unlicensed operator.

At 10:26 p.m. on April 1, sheriff’s deputies responded to a crash on Interstate 86 in the town of Sherman. The driver was identified as Dejesus-Godineaux, and an investigation found that he was driving in excess of 100 mph and “intentionally veered off the roadway after advising the two passengers of the vehicle that he was going to kill them.”

The vehicle was a 2020 Lincoln Nautilus which had been stolen from a Jamestown dealership earlier in the evening. Dejesus-Godineaux was also found with items stolen from the dealership.

Deputies determined that DeJesus-Godineaux was also operating the vehicle while impaired by the use of drugs. Sherman and Ripley fire departments assisted deputies and transported Dejusus-Godineaux as well as two passengers to UPMC Chautauqua for evaluation of minor injuries.

An arrest warrant was issued for DeJesus-Godineaux, and he was sent to Chautauqua County Jail for arraignment.

¯ BROCTON — Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies responded to the report of a stolen motor vehicle from a residence in the village at 5:17 p.m. April 2. While en route to the scene, deputies located the stolen vehicle on East Main Road in the town of Pomfret. The occupants were identified as Paul Dunn III, 38, of Portland and Adam Ossman, 30, of Portland. Upon further investigation it was determined that Dunn and Ossman did not have permission from the vehicle owner to possess or operate the vehicle.

Dunn and Ossman were charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property. Additionally, Dunn was charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation. Dunn and Ossman were transported without incident to the Chautauqua County Jail for Centralized Arraignment.

LAKEWOOD-BUSTI POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ Paul R. Briggs, 36, of Busti, was charged with third-degree grand larceny and third-degree criminal trespass. Police received a call Wednesday of a man taking an outdrive off a boat in the Smith Boys boat yard. Briggs was found to be in possession of the outdrive in his truck bed. He was released with tickets to appear in Busti Town Court later.

JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ Tayven L. Vasquez, 21, of Jamestown, was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, DWI, no/inadequate and no/insufficient tail lamps. Officers at 11:08 p.m. Tuesday observed a vehicle with no lights in the area of Harrison and Institute streets. An investigation found that Vasquez was intoxicated. He was transported to Jamestown City Jail and provided a breath sample that showed his BAC was reportedly three times the legal limit.

NEW YORK STATE POLICE

¯ RANDOLPH — On Tuesday, Troopers out of Jamestown charged Richard McLarney, 33, of Randolph, for driving while ability impaired by drugs.

McLarney was pulled over for a traffic violation on Main Street in Randolph and after failing several field sobriety tests, McLarney was placed under arrest. McLarney was transported to Jamestown where he was evaluated by a New York State Police Drug Recognition Expert and determined to be under the influence of a Central Nervous System stimulant. After securing a blood sample from McLarney at UPMC Hospital in Jamestown, McLarney was transported back to Jamestown where he was processed and released with tickets. McLarney is scheduled to appear in the town of Randolph Court next month.

¯ CELORON — On Tuesday, Troopers out of Jamestown charged Melvin Lao, 43, of Jamestown, with driving while intoxicated.

Lao was pulled over on Jones and Gifford Avenue in Celoron for driving 60 miles per hour in a 30 mile per hour zone. Lao was placed under arrest after failing several field sobriety tests and transported to Jamestown where he provided a breath sample of 0.08. Lao was then processed, issued tickets and released. Mao is scheduled to appear in the town of Ellicott Court next month.
